Michael Luchtan researches Bluegrass events in Europe as a doctoral grant-holder in the Information and Knowledge Society program at Barcelona’s Universitat Obert de Catalunya. Originally from the United States of America, he graduated from the University of Georgia in 2001 with degrees in Computer Science and Cultural Studies. He received his Master’s in Appalachian Studies in 2018. In addition to being in the FESTSPACE research group, Michael is a musician and composer who loves to write for the carillon and to sing tangos.
